Collins hall has served as a “home away from home” for countless Baylor women.
Renovations will ensure this residence hall continues to enrich the Baylor experience for incoming students.
"Generations of women who have lived in Collins feel that deep connection to the University through their first-year residential experience," said Sharra Hynes, associate vice president for student life. "We seek to honor that rich history and make way for generations to come as we put forth a Collins that is modernized and welcoming in the spirit of community.”
Renovations began on Collins in mid-May 2022, and re-opening is scheduled for fall 2023. Some of the features of the newly renovated Collins will include a repurposing of the former dining hall into an entrance facing Pat Neff Hall, classrooms and an apartment for faculty in residence.
“It’s a privilege to be able to renovate our spaces and have support from the institution and the Baylor Family to do so,” Hynes said.
Giving Opportunities
Those interested in celebrating and commemorating their residential experiences at Collins Hall may do so through a number of philanthropic opportunities.
Naming Opportunities
Alumni, parents and friends who want to make an even greater impact may consider a gift to Baylor that will be recognized through naming within Collins Hall. Funds raised through this initiative will benefit the Campus Living and Learning Excellence Fund, which will provide resourcing for future initiatives and priorities aimed at improving student facilities and Student Life programming. Recognition opportunities are available from $50,000 to $2 million, and include:
- Commons
- Courtyard
- Outdoor Garden
